A Guide to Living in San Antonio (Oct. 24th - Oct. 30th)
Hey y'all,
Cory here.
Welcome to your Thursday Guide to Living in San Antonio.
Here's this week's list of timeless and timely recommendations to help you connect better with the Alamo City.
This weekend, San Antonio celebrates Dia de Los Muertos (although the actual holiday falls on Nov 1. - Nov 2.), and right on the tail of that, Halloween!
So today, we'll be sharing some summaries of our previous recommendations (plus a few new ones), so you can make sure you're prepared!💀
If you want to read up on the events in a little more depth, you can find our previous newsletters here:
As always, don't hesitate to reply with your own tips and recommendations (I'll be happy to feature them in a future newsletter) or if you'd like to say "hello."
Enjoy!

🌱Texas Nature Journal: Fall Aster
If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, drought-tolerant plant to add late-season color to your Texas landscape, the Fall Aster might be perfect for you.
Also known as aromatic or wild blue aster, this perennial thrives in Central Texas with its vibrant purple and yellow blooms that last well into the autumn months.
The Fall Aster not only enlivens your garden with stunning color, but it’s also a magnet for pollinators like bees and butterflies—filling an important gap in the ecosystem as food sources dwindle toward the end of the growing season. It grows well in rocky or sandy soils, making it perfect for San Antonio’s dry, limestone-rich terrain. Plus, its dense, mounding growth helps prevent erosion and can be paired beautifully with other native plants like Texas Mountain Laurel, Zexmenia Daisy, and Chili Pequin.
Learn more about planting, caring for, and even propagating Fall Aster in my latest Texas Nature Journal video entry.
